Happy 2016

Posted by Heidi Uy

Happy New year to all of you!

All of us welcome New Year with hopes and a fresh start. It is all about focusing on the new beginnings and promises of fulfilling your dreams. It is never too late to start again!

It has been a tradition for us when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve we say a prayer to provide renewal, for family revitalization and letting go of the previous year, we exchange hugs and kisses, and from a wooden rattan storage chest, I will pull out three planners. The husband takes the prime/head seat, while I take the right hand seat and Coby occupies the left hand seat. The journals have been opened; we experienced a sense of nostalgia as we reflect on the events that took place in our lives in the past 12 months. Having carefully reviewed last year’s goals, with a smile and thanking God, we  put a check mark if they have been fulfilled, if not, an x mark will be shown, faces of hope will still be seen, though.

As we turn the next page, 2016 goals will be written accompanied with a bible verse, we are ready for the things we love to achieve!

We like doing it, as if we are classmates who took a serious test, asking how many check and x marks we got. We compare notes. It is really fun.

The convivial atmosphere continues, from a floor- to-ceiling cabinet, Coby will get this large red box board game, the fast-dealing property game called “Monopoly”, something to welcome the year with prosperity and abundance (of course, avoiding bankruptcy). The game teaches you about finance and investing. It is enjoyable and educational.

Let’s start the year off on a high. As I end my little story with you, allow me once again to share my 2016 prayers for all you from Psalm 20:4

Best wishes for a wonderful year ahead!

Hugs,

Heidi
