Have you heard about Revlite? Some of you may have probably heard or even tried it. For those who are not so familiar with Revlite, let me share some facts and my SKIN 101 experience on that.

Last July 23, I tried for the very first time the “everybody’s favorite treatment” which is called REVLITE. For how many years, all I have been doing are facial and diamond peel. I go to clinic once a month, religiously. But this time I tried a non-invasive laser treatment that permanently removes most brown spots, freckles, unwanted pigment, dark and ageing , and even tattoos.

RevLite Laser Treatment reduces visibility of acne scars and diminishes fine lines and creases. It stimulates and revitalizes collagen in your skin using short pulses of light to make it smoother, glowing, and more even. The laser works by erasing anything dark on your face (except moles). Most pigmented contusions disappear after 1 to 2 treatments. For deeper pigmented contusions, it may require more treatments.

RevLite is not limited to your face. It apparently can lighten your neck, chest area, arms, underarms dark elbows, knees, legs – any part you want to be lighter and smoother. These were profoundly explained to me by the owner herself, Dra. Jennie Francisco-Diaz during my first consultation with her.

To begin with, I was blessed to have a fair skin, but it is not all about that. I have to wear concealer just to cover up my freckles. I find it cute though, when I was still young. I do not know how I can write this without sounding like I am bragging.  I continue to get a lot of compliments on my freckles — through random comments, that having those give you the notion of being mestiza, that those can’t just happen on anyone either. Thank you, but my goal is to have a blemish-free, glowy and pump skin.

So let me give you a walk thru on my SKIN 101 Revlite Experience.

First, my face was cleansed thoroughly before starting the procedure.

They gave me stress balls. Laser-protective goggles were placed over my eyes. I knew exactly the purpose. The first touch of the laser can be a little bit shocking. A tingling feeling, not actually painful but there’s a bit of heat pressed to my face. I can also smell the scent of a burning rubber (due to exposed hair). After a while I got used to the sensation and it was like tiny ant bites on my skin which did not really hurt. It is a tolerable feeling but we had to take a break after doing one round on my face. It can get a little hot but not painful.

After a few seconds, I got used to the feeling and it felt like a massage – sore but soothing as the skin warms up as well. What I am most glad with is that, RevLite will also ‘burn’ off the fine facial hair especially my upper lip hair (which I really intend to get rid of) and to my surprise they all became white.

The best part too is, it does not hurt. Make-up can be applied straight away. I can immediately resume my regular daily activities since there is no downtime associated with Revlite. They just gave me Betamethasone cream and asked to apply 2-3/day over all treated areas for 3 days. No specific care is needed after treatment, although I was told to avoid sun and some skin products for a period of time after the treatment.

I have had one session with them and I will be having more in the weeks to come (recommended is twice a month). The treatment lasted for 30-45 minutes. This includes a signature facial, diamond peel (without glycolic acid), and 15 minutes of laser treatment. That was quick. Immediately after the laser, I found my pores tighter, my skin more radiant and clearer.

I am scheduled for another session next week, and I am thrilled about that. I am sure I will be able to see a difference more so after the second, third, fourth and fifth treatment.
