Coby is my best buffest buddy. He totally got my appetite and love for food. This morning, Coby & I decided to have a “Lunch Saturdate” since RJ already tried this a few times during meetings with his clients.
The new spiral is divided into 21 dining “ateliers” or artist special workshops where chefs prepare their masterpieces right in front of you.
- Salad and Appetizer
- L’Écailler
- Sushi Sashimi
- L’Epicerie
- Hot Japanese
- French Stove
- Rotisserie
- Wood fired oven
- Churrasco
- North Indian
- Asian Noodles
- Peking Duck Oven
- Chinese Wok
- Steam Baskets
- Filipino
- Thai
- Korean
- La Boulangerie
- La Patisserie
- Chocolaterie
- Creamery
For starter, we got complimentary olive bread and butter. Crisp on the outside, yet soft and soft inside.
Salad: Shake & Go- pick up a jar with your preferred greens, add some dressing, shake it and take it to your table. Voila! (I didn’t get because I was so excited to lock myself in the cheese room. Haha!)
Sushi & Sashimi
Asian:
So this is our first stop:
L’ Epicerie
The new cheese room is glorious! Strategically placed at the center of the 21 ateliers. They currently serve 28 types of cheeses, including some local cheese by Malagos from Davao. Since we love to watch Master Chef US, Coby learned about the king of cheeses and that was the one he wanted to try first – the “Grana Padano”. But we both ended up enjoying the Camambert. It makes our taste buds happy. You can also find various nuts, dried fruits, cured meat in that room.
Le Ecailler
Hello seafood lovers, this is your place! – they have lobsters, prawns, French oysters and many more. For those who know me, I’m sure you know my prime choice.
Wood Fired Oven
They create a crunchy and smoky pizza.
French Stove
The biggest station among others. They have bonnet oven and pasta station.
Hot Japanese
I tried their teppanyaki where you can select from fresh seafood, meat and veggies. The chef, then, will cook it right in front of you.
La Patisserie
I have a sweet tooth and this place is like wonderland to me. They have clear pull-out drawers houses with all kinds of pastries.
Chocolaterie
Everything looks divine. 3 different chocolate fountains with an array of fruits, marshmallows and cookies and at a separate island, you can find one happy boy getting his fave candies and truffles.
Creamery
We got few scoops of ice cream. I got the best seller which is stracciatella gelato.
After having gastronomic delight, I ended up having my choice of Japanese Tea (best seller). Tea for me, boosts my metabolic rate and increase fat burning in the short term, although not all studies agree. The effects may depend on the individual but it works for me.
The price for this buffet is truly worth it.
