As the saying goes, the flower that blossoms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful.

With these challenging times, COVID-19 has created a huge impact to the world: countries are lockdown, boarders shutdown by country, travel restrictions on international flights has had affected global airline industry, many businesses are at stake that led to the significant rise of unemployment, there are seriously ill and many people have died, too few workers have access to paid leaves which means that missed work means missed pay, and Holy Masses are now held online… these are only few effects but COVID-19 has swept the globe!

It has hit us in one way or another. Though, there has been positive change to each individual and to the planet as well. People learned how to slow down. People have to stop driving around and flying to destinations around the world. We realise that there are alternative ways to live more simply and responsibly. Family ends up more time at home – the most awaited “work-life balance” has now been given to most individuals.  You see yourself now doing wholesome activities with your family like cooking together or doing art projects, learning new skills, reading new books, watching new shows…etc. This is an opportunity to redefine how we live. Globally, we see our skies bluer, air has been fresher, the rivers are cleaners. Our Mother Earth also needs a break.

In the meantime, for those who are working abroad, on a business trip or simply planned a vacation then suddenly stuck in the other end of the world trying to get back to your family, do not worry, by God’s grace, you/we will be home soon.

I believe in the triumph of hope over fear. If you feel hopeless, see an endless hope. We are given new life every morning. Just remember Psalm 91 – Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Let us continue to do our part no matter how big or small – think of ways to offer what others need.  Just live like it’s spring. There is always hope during the darkest winter of life. Spring always brings hope, a fresh start is all around us. A new life will come forth.

P.S.

When this is over, let’s us not forget to give our friends and loved ones a big and warm hug, support the businesses – buy local products, promote your country . For bloggers and online media, remember those you have collaborated/partnered with. Support them again in the best way you can.

And of course, a HUge thank you to all medical workers, civil service employees, bank workers, journalists, pharmacy workers, military personnel, farmers, sanitary workers, delivery peeps, factory workers, grocery staff, cleaners, religious group and to everyone who is working to keep things going in these challenging times.

Hugs,

Heidi
