Hi friends! In today’s blog, I’ll be sharing some self-care tips for everyone.

I am delighted to talk about this topic because I am an advocate of self-care for many years. My goal is to help you be the best that you can be.  I help people find ways to put their wellness into their priority list. Remember, it is learned, purposeful and continuous.

We all know that during this quarantine, life can be a bit frustrating and stressful. The pandemic has changed the way we live. Everyone can face a lot of pressure in life – relationships, family conflicts, health problems, money issues, the list goes on and on.

So how do you deal with them? One way to manage the constant ups and downs of being locked in is to practice “self-care,” it’s a way of living each day that incorporates behaviors that help you feel refreshed, re-energized, and rested.

How do you engage in self-care? It is not an exhaustive list since you know your own needs better than anyone, but a good guide to keep you on track.

Remember that this pandemic will not be forever, so take care of yourself. Here are 8 simple tips I recommend for everyone:

1.Stick to a healthy and balanced diet.

By following a nutritious food plan, it will give your body the natural vitamins and nutrients it needs to thrive. You should incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your daily intake. Things to do: Eat breakfast daily, take multivitamins, and drink 6-8 glasses of water. Things to avoid: fried foods, refined sugar, alcohol and caffeine.

2.Create a good sleeping routine

It is very common to finish work reports however, sleep deprivation can impair cognitive functioning. Good sleeping habit, involves going to bed at a consistent time, having a comfortable sleeping environment, and getting the recommended hours of rest every night.

3.Exercise

Exercising can really help to decrease stress levels.  You can integrate other fitness activities, such as online yoga, zumba, or spend time outside such as riding your bike, going for a walk but follow social distancing guidelines.

4. Pamper yourself

You don’t have to book a spa or anything like that to pamper yourself. Remember it has been ordered to close, so you just simply rely on your  basic simple ways, from hair/face/hand/foot masks to hot bubble baths. These can be incredibly relaxing. Don’t forget to light a scented candle, listen to some music and enjoy your glass of wine or cup of tea. So lovely! You will come out feeling fresh as a daisy. Oh by the way, never stop putting on perfume, this will help your life feel  a little more normal.

 5. Digital Detox

It is important to stay informed but try to limit your media intake. Try a digital detox by switching off your devices and you might find that not having anxiety-inducing notifications from social media improves your mood.

6. Getting out into nature

It can help you reconnect with yourselves. There is plenty of peace and quiet in the green spaces, if you have parks/clubhouses in your community just simply unwind in the local area and beyond. Again, follow your respective country’s quarantine guidelines.

7. Journal

Journaling is a great way to write out your thoughts and feelings and it is one of the most popular self-care activities. Why? Because it is so therapeutic. You can also create a gratitude list/miracles in your journal to write out the things you are thankful for. This will help to shift your mind to think positive even during stressful moments. I enjoy doing journaling. You will find out why gratitude is such a powerful practice.

8. Have fun!

Simply enjoy yourself!  Count your blessings not your troubles  and you will have a happy heart.

I hope these starting recommendations inspire you to create a self-care routine that works for you. It may take some time to feel or see the benefits but don’t give up. Keep practicing self care. It is a life skill that you can rely on. If you want to succeed, you must start taking care of yourself each and every day.

Best of luck on your personal self-care journey. Stay healthy and be safe always!

HUgs,

Heidi
