Philippine Fashion Week S/S2014

Posted by Heidi Uy

Third day of PhFW S/S 2014.  I always adore Spring/ Summer Collection. It gives me a vibrant feeling due to its color and style. I am elated that I was given an invite from Mr. Albert Andrada himself. Six  creative people with multifold magnificent designs in an hour of elegance, glamour and grace. Congratulations to Albert Andra, Eric delos Santos, Jerome Salaya Ang, Jun Jun Cambe, Norman Noriega & Raoul Ramirez.

Here are my top 3 personal choices for each designer’s creation. (Photos grabbed from PhFW site)

“Monarch” was the inspiration for Albert Andrada’s first black collection in the Philippines as he opened the first show. The first two dresses exude femininity and elegance while the black creation gives me the concept of come-hither look.  You truly have leading- edge collections then and now. Hail to your creations!

The second collection is “Genesis”. Inspired by the South Beach and the Bahamas.  I am mesmerize with these dainty creations. The middle picture confers an idea of being a fairy in hidden resort. I dote on to that.  While the two, are wearable pieces.

The collection entitled “After The End”, Jerome Salaya Ang ‘s “sui generis” collection as the models came out with masks. I  go for  every details in the dress. It is so  precise and will give an illusion that one is slender regardless of body type.

Jun Jun Cambe featured 80’s street clothes. This is so summery and spring. i must say an art to wear in the Southern part of Europe. Pieces that have no structured lines, no defining silhouette. Check out Jun Jun Cambe’s Spring Summer 2014 collection here, http://bit.ly/17jTdby

Norman Noriega collection is a laid back type of creation. Not so dressy and prefers neutrals – white, black, and gray. Minamalist yet catchy. See more, http://bit.ly/16biZvA

Taking inspiration from a recent trip to St. Tropez, Raoul Ramirez imagined the aspirational life of the ladies in yachts and how they spend the glorious summer days. I was really magnetized with the creation in the middle. So fabulous that would make you think of attending a very important event rather than S/S togs.

I love the sequins of my black skirt. It matches with my lace top.
